Your 1099 and your W-2 should both be in your tax return, they are simply listed on separate line items.

You don't file a Form 1099...Form 1099 is for informational purposes only. The IRS and recipient get copies. But you have to include the income on the 1099 on your tax restuen along with your Form W-2's, which you have to mail with your tax return.

You don't file your w-2 or 1099. You send them along with your income tax return. Your return is the from you file. Your 1099 is just another form for reporting your income, in this case, miscellaneous income. They go along with your W-2's and are really pretty much the same thing.

You only file one return. It must list all taxable income from all sources.
