Hey chick - sounds like Gastric Flu to me, Ive had it a few times (thanks to working in a hospital) and its rank. Keep your fluid levels up, inc either flat Coca Cola or a glass of water with a pinch of salt in as all your levels will be knackered. I was off work for a week with both mine, its advisable not to go back to work and mingle with others until 24hours after your last symptom. If the symptoms come back again or youre really worried then off you go to the GPs, but for now I think youve just got the rotten bug thats doing the rounds! If youd like to chat more, give me a shout. Been there, done that and can sympathise! bex

Dont eat food just replace lost fluids if dehydrating just water with a pinch of salt and sugar you really need to get all the goop through your system and until the bad bugs have been done in by the good bugs anything particularly anything that can ferment is just stoking up the problem. Its rather feed a cold starve a fever advice. There used to be a brilliant cheap cure called Kaolin;and morphine which tasted foul but acted like six of sand and one of cement .Rejoice in the fact that your body will sort the correct bacterialogical balance out when things are settled a bit of natural yoghurt can be helpful in the mean time think of the money you have saved not having to pay for colonic irrigation

Sounds to me like Gastroenteritis, or Gastric Flu. keep you're fluids up, and go to the doctor, he/she will probably give you a prescription for Buccastem tablets (one or 2 to be taken twice a day). These will cure the sickness within 48 hours. If the diarrhea continues for more than 5 days your doctor will probably require a sample. This is what i got told by my doctor when i had it a couple of weeks ago i was off work/collage for a week with it. Get better soon!

I found this article about homepathic remedies for food poisoning:
"Pyrogen 200c: Although homeopathic remedies are more effective when based on a constitutional diagnosis by a qualified practitioner, for emergencies, self-prescribing is better than nothing. Pyrogen is useful in treating both food poisoning and fevers that are a result of flu, a septic infection, or just rotten food. Typically, you will alternate between feeling cold and chilly and hot and sweaty with palpitations"

It could be Norovirus which usually lasts about 48 hours. Whatever it is you need to take precautions to stop it being spread.
Do not prepare food for other people.
Make sure you use a proper disinfectant cleaner to clean up after yourself.
Don't share towels or facecloths.
Always wash your hands before and after touching or using anything that may be touched or used by others.
Try not to touch other people if you can.
If you want to know more about Norovirus, which closes hospital wards and brings cruise ships back to port, email info@anubishealthcare.com or go to www.anubishealthcare.com and contact from the web site.

Either way, there's not much you need to do. Unless it's something a little more rare, you'll just need to let it pass.

Keep yourself hydrated. Gatorade is often cited. However, as long as you're drinking water or apple juice or something similar, you'll be fine.

If you can, go with the BRAT diet. Eat Bananas, Rice, Apples, and Toast.

Get rest.

If the vomiting continues for more than 2 days, you find yourself getting dehydrated, or you'll getting other symptoms, go to a doctor.

Hope you feel better. I'm getting over one of these, myself.

If it's a stomach bug, should go in 2 - 3 days. If you go to the doctor, I'm afraid they'll need a stool sample to confirm food poisoning :(

I had food poisoning a few weeks ago. I took me about 4 days to feel better. Really bad cramps, no vomiting but I thought it was worse than the flu. Hope you feel better soon.
