I went to the Philadelphia Tattoo Convention yesterday and saw a lot of great art work, mostly watercolor paintings done by the tattoo artists there. Does anyone know of a site as to where I can find this type of art. I'm particularly interested in traditional tattoo art paintings/drawings.

Thanks for your help

Most real tattoo artists work in mediums besides the skin. In fact most all of them were schooled in various art forms long before they started tattooing. The artist that did my dragon (James Clements ) has a link to his artwork on his tattoo page....(See the answer from Somebody above...) The artist doing my cover up also has an online art studio. www.bretzarro.com
I too find the art work of tattoo artists to be fascinating. We are planning on buying works of each of the above listed artists......I hope that this helps.

Oh man, I'm jealous, I wanted to go. Unfortunately I'm 800 miles away right now.

Really the easiest way to find art is by finding an artist you like first, and then check out their website or see if you can find them anywhere on the web.

Most artists that are big into that will have them for sale for anyone to buy. You might be able to get them to do something that you want too, if they're not super busy.

Most times the artists will have tons of traditional work. It tends to be the easiest to create.

Tons of artists on there. I've seen a lot of artists that will have pictures of paintings up for sale or ones sold for reference to people that want to buy some of their work.

I reccomend the lowbrow art world page lowbrowartworld.com/links_page.html it has links to all sorts of artists in a similar vein, and also, if you haven't already, go buy a copy of Juxtapoz, an art/culture magazine with art from mark ryden, shag, doze green, tons of amazing artists, all pertaining to the tattooed low brow rockabilly hipster set. And also, when you say traditional, do you mean like old sailor jerry traditional or japanese traditional, because some of that stuff is really cool, too.(Think graphic waves and thick lines) Good luck.
