I think the p880 has a manual zoom, Ie. you have to turn it yourself, Is this a big deal I always found cameras havening an automatic zoom, I have to buy online since I can't find one local so I can't "play" with it. Thanks all

The reason I choose these 2 was because my wife bought me the z710, and I can get the p880 refurbisted for the same price, I don't want to go over what she already spent 265.00, Thanks

Between those two, the P880 is the better spec'ed camera, but it's getting a little old and may not really be available any more.

Personally- I think manual zooms are much more user friendly. The downside is that you need two hands.

However. I wouldn't suggest either of those cameras.- there are better choices out there. Here's a few:

What sort of pictures are you expecting to get? With that camera and the zoom range you'll need to be standing fairly close to the players to see them at a reasonable size. Also all compact cameras have a bit of shutter lag, so the photo will be taken perhaps 1/2 sec after you press the shutter, so get some practice before you to so you can get the photo you want. The microphone on cameras like this isn't always great.

The Kodak P880 is the better camera by far. It has a larger image sensor, higher resolution, manual focus, closer macro distance, more white balance modes, external flash support, a faster shutter and RAW file support. The Kodak Z710 however does have a better optical zoom (10x vs 5.8x).
