I think I would deal! As much as I would love to get 250k I would be hugely gutted if i got £1! At least if I deal and I happen to have the 250k in my box I wouldn't be too gutted because at least I would have won approximately £100k-125k which is roughly what the banker would offer if I were left with those two boxes.

It depends on the number of cases left to open and the banker's offer.

I had my father (professor in probability) watch the show a few times and do a quick run-down on the numbers, the formula the banker uses, and the contestant's risk tolerance. (basically risk taking and limits).

If you're saying two cases left... £250K vs. £1 (those being the only cases left, I would definitely take the bankers offer.

If the two remaining boxes contained £250K and £1 the bankers offer is going to be somewhere in the middle. Probably £150K. I'd have to take the deal. I am not going to risk all that money on a coin flip. In fact even if the bankers offer was 'only' £75K (and it should be much higher) I'd still take the money. Why risk losing it all on a coin flip?

Depends what the banker was offering - to make it Fair on the odds he SHOULD offer £125,000 - in which case I would accept - but he never seems to go with what the odds say he should go with - anything under £100,000 I'd say no deal.

I couldnt go home with only £1 so I would defeintely take what the banker offered. Although he would prob only offer £10,000 knowing that anyone with a brain cell would take it.

Surely that all depends on what the banker is offering?

It really does depend on the number of cases and the offer, but I would say No deal.
