Does it go in waves, over weeks and months, some up some down, or is it more constant and always. It is simply that everything affects you more seriously than others?

Usually if I'm going through a stressful time (like right now, I just broke up with my boyfriend of 4 years), my anxiety increases in every little way. It's not just general, it's specific. I get anxious about washing the dishes, about going to work, about driving. And it comes in waves. My doctor prescribed me Xanax which has worked miracles. Be careful, though, it can be addicting.

I suffer from extreme anxiety that is actually debilitating, when i was even a kid i I always had butterflies in my stomach, but then I would have panic attacks in public places, now it is everyday and constant, yes some things trigger it to be even worse but it has gotten so bad its a nightmare to even leave the house.Of course in the last 5 years i had some really bad experiences that heightened and played on my anxiety and now it just feels like my nervous system is shot.Thats where I should have looked out for myself alot better, but I let other people screw me around never thinking about the affect it would later have on me.I have ground my teeth down so bad I dont think i am relaxed even when Im sleeping.I wake up with this horrid anxiety.I take xanax thank God for that but what happens when I dont get it anymore I went through a year of therapy and getting ready to go back just so It forces me to take a shower and get out of the house.Alot of my anxiety unfortuantley i cant do too much about because I have alot of illnesses and knee and back problems so it leaves me with alot less control over my life which I think is a big part of it cause with this kind of anxiety you do need to have some kind of a sense of control with many things because I do think thats what does control some of the anxiety. Its a horrid thing to suffer from and Once again I feel if you dont experience it first hand you really cant understand how debilitating it really can be.Its a bad way to live. There have been times it was and is so bad I think there is only one way to make it stop, cause I have been suffering with it so long I am afraid it is never gonna end and I cant stand the way it feels. I wouldnt wish this on anybody.

I always had stress and hi anxiety most of my life. Since I retired I have had a big jump in this area. My wife and I almost went nuts until I went to the Dr. and got some meds to help me not fly off the handle so much and now I sleep much better.
Also, big part is I and my wife go to the gym and exercise and swim at least three times a week. We have seen the difference in our relationship.
I go to Church as neither one of us went before much because she is Catholic and I am Lutheran..I go alone but that is her right not to go but I also go to Sunday school after the service to study the Bible which still has me puzzled cuz i have a lot of questions.

and I volunteer to help the elderly...Respite, transpiration to Dr. etc etc..I got trained as a Nurse Aide and I might get a job taking care of a home bound senior..this help relieve a lot of stress
