Rather good.
Mentally, no Swiss would like to loose his independance and they are prepared to fight for it. Sounds not important but a determined population can make an invasion a hell.
The Swis have a very good reputation of soldiers (as mercenaries in different armies) and they are still proud on it. This counts also mentally if there should be a conflict.
Structurally, every Swiss has is "personal" army gun at home, at every village heavier material is stored (like explosives).
This is important to block a surprise attack. An airborne attack will be under fire before the ennemy troops can regroup.
The training is very serious. If you visit Swiss, you see on the stations some (civilians) soldiers with their arms going to do some army training.
Every road, bridge, strategic place is designed from the beginning with demolition chambers to place explosives in it.
Before a lot of bunkers were made to defend valleys and to make killing fields of every acces road. These bunkers are now abondonned but another strategie is adepted (static defenses are now obsolete).
Who ever tries to invade Swiss, will get a very bloody noose. Not even Germany was foolish enough to attack the Swiss (too much deads guaranteed for minor strategic gains). Till now I've never heard that the Warchaupact had plans to attact Switzerland if the cold war would become hot. This says enough.

Every Swiss is in the military, keeps his/her weapons and equipment at home.
The whole country is divided up into fire zones and covered by artillery, anti-air and prepared positions.
Not even Hitler wanted a piece of the Swiss on their own ground.

All males have weapons, a whole population, armed and trained. Underground bases, and bunkers, surrounded by mountain. Underground airbases.
Sounds like anybody who would try to attack would receive massive casulties for such small gain.
It would be political, and real life suicide to attack Switzerland.

Well, I dunno...when was the last time you heard of Switzerland being invaded? Even the Nazis left it alone.
Maybe the fact that in Switzerland, EVERYONE is REQUIRED to keep a firearm in their house has something to do with it....

every single adult male there has an automatic weapon in their closet and is trained to use it....Id say they are pretty damn good
