no matter what I do, I can't seem to get a clear picture. Is it very expensive to fix these type of cameras,or what could I do to fix it myself?

It sounds as if you've knocked one of the lens elements out of alignment which is causing the condition you describe.

I would hesitate to recommend any do-it-yourself fix unless you are willing to forgo any warranty claim with Casio. The minute you open the camera yourself you will void any warranty with the manufacturer.

These small point-n-shoots are very tricky to work on. There's a lot of circuitry packed into a small space and it will require the right tools to do it right, not to mention you've got nothing to calibrate it with so even if you did "realign" something you may actually end up making it worse.

A warranty claim may be worth pursuing, but if you read the small print it probably has a disclaimer about owner damage or misuse (not to imply you've misused it, just that it's standard language). You may run the risk that they deny the warranty claim, but it's probably worth a shot.

Your third option is to find someone in your area that does camera repairs to see if they'll take a look at it. Typically they will charge you a one time fee ($50-75) just to diagnose the problem. Some will apply this fee towards the total repair bill if you choose to let them fix it (some don't).

In any event you may find yourself approaching the cost of a new camera very quickly at which point I'd recommend scrapping the original and going for the replacement.

Good luck.

Hopefully it's still under warranty.

If not, it might be more expensive to fix than to replace.
