I can not hear what is being said because the music is so loud. Yes I do have a slight hearing problem. Is there any electronic device to tone down the music so the words can be understood? I like to watch the CSI programs etc.

the best way would be to use a hometheater system setup but only connect the center channel this will allow you to listen to only vocals or you can keep all the speakers (5.1) but lower the gain for all other speakers except the center channel where all the vocals come out, by maxing out the center to +10 on the speaker level menu and attenuating all other speakers to -10 this will enable you to listen to the vocals clean and clear. any $100 hometheater system can do this. it just takes time patients.

I would try something like a 10 band graphic equalizer, that way you can raise or lower the sound level at different portions of the frequency spectrum. I would also enable the close captioning as well.

I agree with Mr. Reference. CSI plays their music in the back speakers and the dialog in the front ones.

If you have a TV with stereo and surround sound option, change it so that surround sound and stereo are OFF. You should notice a difference.
