I'm hungry, and I'm kinda low on groceries. Plus, it's WAY too cold to go to the store. Even if it's challenging, I don't care. I love to cook.

Sorry, I need to rephrase this: Do you have any recipes that can be made with ingredients you mostly always have in your pantry?

Some Ingredients I have:
Milk, Eggs, Flour, one apple, three bananas, some chicken and beef stock, old tomatoes, some ground beef, spices, onions, chips, and chocolate.
Plus a few bags of sugar and some butter.
Yes, that's it.

you could make "mock" chicken fried steak......here's a recipe I've tried and tested.......

INGREDIENTS

* 1 pound ground beef
* 2 teaspoons chopped fresh parsley
* 1 tablespoon chili powder
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 1 egg
* 2 cups crushed saltine crackers, divided
* 1/2 cup oil for frying

DIRECTIONS

1. In a medium bowl, mix together the ground beef, parsley, chili powder, salt, egg, and 1 cup of crushed saltine crackers. Form into 6 balls, then flatten into patties. Coat patties with remaining cracker crumbs, and place them on a plate. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
2. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry patties for about 7 minutes per side, or until the centers are well done and the outside is golden brown.

if you don't have the crackers, just use flour.....and if you have no oil you can use butter.........not healthy I know!

I also make pan or flour gravy with the fat from the frying, and lota pepper, then smother the patty with it.....hope this helps!!

My grandmother used to make the most phenomenal salmon in the dishwasher. I know it sounds odd, but it was steamed to perfection and was a real show stopper for parties. She used to run a load of dishes at the same time for extra impact, but I don't recommend it unless you've tried it before. For Mima's Dishwasher Salmon, you'll need: Salmon Filets And for each filet: - 1 Tbsp. Butter (Margarine or Olive Oil work well too) - 1 Tbsp. lemon juice - 1 tsp. dill (or other herbs like rosemary) - salt and pepper Cut a square of tinfoil. Place one salmon filet on the tinfoil. Add the butter, lemon juice, dill, salt and pepper on top of the fillet. Fold up the tinfoil and wrap down the edges to form an airtight packet as possible. Repeat for each salmon filet. The recipe is otherwise super simple, but this step is crucial. After all, you don't want dishwater infiltrating the package! Place packets on the top rack of your dishwasher. Turn the dishwasher on to the normal setting - not energy saver, economy or cool dry - and let it run the full course. You need a full, hot cycle with a heated dry to properly cook the salmon. My mom and I tested this a lot to be sure our dishwashers worked for it, and we found that as long as the dishes came out hot after the full normal cycle (all the ones we've tried do) the fish was cooked to a perfect internal temperature. You can always add a sauce at the end, like a hollandaise, but I think the taste of this is simple and lovely as it is. Also, if you don't have a dishwasher, you can bake the packets at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-15 minutes, (I have a similar recipe for baked salmon done this way), but that takes all the fun out of it in my opinion.

Well, I always have baking powder and flour in me pantry, luv. A cup of that flour, a teaspoon and a half of baking powder, one egg and enough water to make all the above into a batter, and you've got the beginnings of a plateful of waffles or pancakes. Butter a skillet, pre-heat the thing at medium-low setting, and start pouring pancakes - or waffles, if you have and prefer a waffle iron. If y'aint got a lot of syrup, put any sort of fruit you happen to have in the batter and that'll kick 'em up a notch. Sprinkle on a bit of powdered sugar and pinch of ground cinnamon to kick 'em up another notch.
If you just happen to have some light cream in your fridge, whip that and a couple egg whites into peaks and slap a tablespoon of that on your pancakes - BAM! (thanks to Chef Emeril)...

Take your ground beef, onion, spices and ketchup and make some sloppy joe for a sandwich. Warm food on cold days are always best!

If you have some potatoes, carrots and onions you could make a nice soup with some bullion/stock and a tin o' tomatoes. Just add a cup of small pasta (macaroni or fussili).

This is the very definition of Chop Suey......

Chop Suey is basically Chinese for left overs cut into small pieces. Take whatever meat you have, whatever veggies you might have and rice if you have it, chop it up throw it in a pan with lots of soy and you got a tasty meal.

You can make a casserole from a can of soup, some veggies and pasta. Or you can make a stir fry, it's quick and easy, and you can add what you want.
