I would love to have a Troubadour to sing and play at my wedding while everyone is having cocktails, but I have no Idea where to find one in England! They don't seem to exist!
Does anyone have any ideas?

I don't know where you are,but look for places advertising Tudor feasts(roast pig ,baron of beef etc-they usually have strolling singers-troubadors)

Also Sealed Knot Society have all sorts of contacts, with a heigh nonny, heigh nonny no!

All the best on your nuptials

What a lovely idea! You could have a medieval theme for the entire wedding - gorgeous! I imagine troubadours are extinct now; but you could probably find a singer who would be willing to dress the part. Are there any historical groups in your area? Is there a musical society? They might be able to suggest someone. Are there any stately homes or historic castles near you? Early music is quite popular so you might be lucky. Anyway I hope you have a wonderful day.

contact your local SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism-they reenact medieval/renaissance times and there should be troubadours since it was a part of life then)(i think it's international.................o.O) or go to your local Renaissance faire and check out the performers there. they should be able to help you. hey, if there's still lords and ladies, then there's gotta be troubadours, right?! good luck!!
