Death sentences are not just give for any murder. A capital murder is usually one that involves children, law enforcement, witnesses, or multiple murders and is usually well thought out before hand(premeditation). The difference between us and them is that an execution follows the rules and laws set down by the state. Here in Texas, which leads the nation in executions, if someone is give a death sentence there is an automatic appeal. The criminal is tried twice just to make sure they are guilty. The difference is that we are upholding the laws and they broke them.

Ok, I have in the past year changed my mind on this topic. Last year I would have told you yes, because that the vast majority of people on death row have been given ample time to present their case, and they are not there for being nice guys.

But today I must say No. For a few reasons. One is that we as a people are better than that. We have a government based on laws. These laws have root in a Judeo Christian background. While I framers did a hell of a job making a free country they did miss a few things. Slavery and the Death penalty.

People no matter how heinous they are, are still people. They have killed and brought destruction onto us, but are we bettered as a people if we return some of that destruction on to them? Have we shown justice? We must believe that judgment does wait for us at the end of our days. All religions of the world show that there will be a reckoning in the end with the creator. So by killing those that killed we may be safer, but we have sullied our hands with their crimes.

Bill O'Reilly has a great idea, make a prison in Alaska. Send all Death row inmates there. It will be hard, cold and dismal. It will be punishment. It will be time to think about what was done and how that in the end, it was not we the people that will put it right but God.

I like to believe that when I die, this will not be one of the things that I will have to account to Jesus for. I believe in keeping our people safe, and I believe that we could never equal the judgment of the Lord.

I believe that if there is 100% no doubt that these people committed the crime, then yes they should be given the death sentence. This would possibly decrease the crime rate and stop us tax payers keeping them in what can only be called luxury nowadays not prison. The difference between us and them is, we are protecting the rest of the country, they will probably just come out and do it again (not all though).

Yes i think so but i think they should be killed the same way as their victim. All this bullshit about being punished by god is just that bullshit! Dead is dead! You will not be punished by god and go to hell,After death you are just a piece of dean meat.Their are monsters in human form in this wold that kill and rape women and children,so why should we show them mercy? They have no remorse or feelings they are not human.Giving them a slap on the wrist and sending them to jail just shows them how weak and stupid we (normal people are) its an in invitation for them to kill all over again. In other countries they take them out and shoot them, that's what they want, they don't have the guts to do it themselves! That's why the USA has so much crime,We cuddle the criminals and screw the victims!

putting morals aside. i'm hostile to the shortcoming of existence penalty. An i'm now unlikely to regulate anyones ideas. yet devoid of morals or something. at present with each and every of the hot technologies popping out. An human beings being positioned to lack of existence. some are innocuous. shouldn't all and multiple on lack of existence row be aquitted for there crimes. until eventually we are able to a minimum of get the correction equipment up as a lot as now.

They thought and planned the murder.Only the worst of the SCUM get the death penalty and when they do get sentenced, they should be fried quickly, as Saddam was!Let me ask you a question; If you had a gun and a scumbag was about to shoot someone you loved, would you hesitate in blowing the b*stard away??They are vermine and deserve to die and you can be sure that they won't ever do that again!!

Essentially it's a question of revenge. Once a prisoner is incarcerated they can't do harm in society(theoretically). So the threat is gone to society at large. The only reason to kill them at that point is hate, anger, or revenge; or some mixture thereof.

The difference is they killed out of hate, greed, or for the fun of it and we are doing it as a punishment. The death penalty is a lot better if you think of what normally happens now. They just get free food, bed, and sometimes even cable and just relax in there.

the difference is that they killed an innocent victim for whatever reasons.
Death sentence, in my opinion, is not a punishment. It is simply assuring that the murderer never commits another crime.
Child molesters deserve the same fate.
