Why are the majority of them so vindictive to drive away or not stop at all when they see you almost reach the bus stop with heavy shopping bags and waving frantically?
And they always terminate the bus if someone doesn't pay,but when I got assaulted once, driver chose to ignore the situation, when I begged him to call the cops.
What's wrong with them?

As my grandma used to say: "every generalisation is dangerous, especially this one..."

You got a point, I experienced cranky bus drivers as I'm sure most people have in their lives. However, I have seen and read some heroic stuff as well (my wife was once protected from a gang of thugs who trailed her down the street, by a bus driver who was on his lunch break. He let her in the bus, called a cab and gave her £5.00 for the fare. He then gave her his private address to return the money.)

So here's my question to you: If you were to focus on the positive and remember a specific event, in which a bus driver actually smiled at you, or a story you read in which a bus driver featured who was helpful and kind... do you still feel hated by every bus driver?

When you get on the bus, do you give the driver a smile, a hello or good morning, a thank you when he lets you out at the front? Once you make an effort to establish a little bit of human touch, you'll be amazed what positive experiences you'll have.

Bus Drivers do NOT hate the majority of the public. They have got timetables/schedules to keep to - if they are even a second late getting to a stop then you cahn guarantee that someone will complain to the company. The company will deduct the drivers wages and give him/her a bad reference as to time keeping when the driver applies for another job.

If a person gets on and doesn't pay, and the company finds out - the missing fare(s) will get deducted from the drivers pay at the end of the month.

Bus Driving is NOT a well paid job,

Bet you've chosen to forget the times when a bus driver HAS waited for you or been friendly or helpful....
And if they terminated the bus every time someone doesn't pay they'd probably never move at all.
Bus drivers are no different to anyone else - but they are subjected to rather more abuse and unpleasantness from people than most workers are. It's surprising that so many do remain cheerful.

It,s not just London bus drivers i is a lot of bus drivers they like to see us running for the bus and then pull a way when we are nearly at the bus stop , or drive pass the bus stop when it is raining without stopping.

It is an interesting question. Are they power freaks who have to "control" their passengers? My elderly parents got thrown off a local bus because the little 'hitler' in the driving seat said they couldn't use their passes on his bus. My father is virtually blind but there was no lee=way in this man's mind. Anyway, the protested to Aviva and yes they should have been allowed to use their passes and the driver had been "retrained"!! They've seen him since and he just ignores them, never apologised. Probably didn't even register to him as he's horrible to so many people every day.

From what I have read in papers, London bus drivers are on about 26k per year.

No wonder they don't care. It is over 10k more than i'm on for doing the same job.

If you are a Brit, it's because, contrary to what the airline commercials may have you believe, the Brits do NOT believe in service... to other Brits.!
