No wonder I've been feeling fat- guess I'll just have to cut out dinner if I want these ;-)
Any speculation on Carbs?

These are the ones I've been using lately...

Unibroue Don de Dieu, Ephemere, La Fin du Monde
Great Lakes Eliot Ness Amber Lager,

It depends on more than just the alcohol- the other main factor in determining the caloric content of a beer is the residual sugar left in the beer that did not turn into alcohol. I can tell you that the amount of calories coming from alcohol @ 9% is always going to be around 257 per 12 ounces. @7%, it will be around 200. For a typical big beer like this, you can add around 140-200 more calories because of the residual sugar.

You are probably around 400 calories per 12 ounces for 9% and 320 for a 7% beer. What beer in particular are you talking about?

edit: Some great beers there. Regarding carbs, simply divide the number of calories *not* coming from alcohol by 4 (the amount of calories per gram of sugar). For a typical 7% beer, in the nieghborhood of 32g carbs. 9%, closer to 40g. Generally, the thicker the mouthfeel of the beer, the higher the caloric content, assuming abv is the same. So for your Duvel, IPAs, Ephemere, Elliot Ness, you'll be a little lower on the scale than for beers that have more residual sugars like the Raison D'Etre & Chimays.

Where are you getting 9% or 7% beer?

Anyway, figure around 200 calories.
For example:
Olde English 800 Malt LiquorMiller
% Alcohol: 5.9
Calories: 160
Carbs: 10.5

--------------------------------------------------
Ok, here's one:
McEwans Scotch Ale Scottish & Newcastle (Scotland)
% Alcohol: 9.50
Calories per 100 ml: 83

Note: 12 ounce [US, liquid] = 354.882 ml
