I guess public is for show-if you need people to think you're a certain way.
I think there should not be 'shame'-if you do something that's wrong for you, accept the consequences and u8se it as a learning tool for the next time the same issue comes up.

Usually public shame will cause you to repent. Private you keep on sinning.

I'm a bit of a loner- I'd be pretty much indifferent to public shame. I'm not sure it would concern me very much what other people thought of me.

Neither. Why would anyone choose either. I want no shame at all.

When God calls us to suffer, He doesn't mean that we are supposed to like it. It is supposed to be unpleasant. If you were punishing your child, would you give them a punishment that they enjoyed or disliked?

Shame is a produce of guilt and guilt is a product of narrow minded religious thinking.

All of it is unnecessary and negative.

What others think is really no concern to me. What does matter is what God thinks and how I feel about myself and my actions.

May God Bless you.
