I thought I saw a commercial a while back for a crock pot that you can program to come on at a certain time, cook, then shut off or just default to warm.

Hi !!!
I do remember this cookware, where to ladies kept repeating "and just walk away". Here is a website that I came across referring to this product...How this product worked was to start it up by using your stove top for a few minutes & then you would turn your stove off and the pot would continue the cooking process without your stove being on...you "JUST WALK AWAY".

**IF YOU DO STILL WANT TO USE A PROGRAMABLE CROCK POT, PLEASE TAKE THE FOLLOWING INTO CONSIDERATION...

I do not think that some dishes should be left in the pot too long before the cooking process begins, due to the food-poisoning issues. I saw this "product review" idea that may help you with the start time solution that you are looking for, but I would not let some foods stay in the pot too long before starting it up. Here is this person's solution:

When I saw "programmable" I thought I had found the answer to my "start time" problem. I wanted to be able to say start at noon and be ready when I get home from work rather than start now, as I leave for work, and sit on warm for the afternoon. Instead, I'm still using a lamp/vacation/timer plug in and not really happy with being forced into only 4 cook time choices. It cooks nicely and the size and clean up are great, but I'd rather have cook time flexibility if I can't have start and stop times.

i have a Rival Crock Pot that you can program and after it finishes cooking, it goes to warming mode until you shut it off. I got it at Target for about $40

I purchased one for my brother that is awesome. It's the Rival Smart-crock pot. He LOVED it and it only cost me $30 at Target.

You might want to check it out. Rival make s a great crock pot. I'm still using my great-aunt Kate's and it's WAY over 30 years old. Still works like a charm! :)

Good luck and have fun cooking!!!

You can always attach it to a timer, like the ones that turn on lights at a special time. However, it is not a good idea to leave the ingredients at room temperature long. It is better to turn it on early and let it cook longer. here are bacteria on raw vegetables and raw meat. Do not allow them to multiply before the cooking starts.

Yup, a couple different brands. They're expensive. Check with any restaurant supply house.

I know there is one. 2 years ago bought one for a wedding present. It was at Target or Dillards.
