As a Secular Humanist I recognize humanness in all people.
I do not however recognize all human behavior as being in the
best interests of mankind.
I seek to recognize & respond to the needs of those, who within
the limits of their abilities, try to help themselves and then help others less fortunate than they are.
This, for me is a part of moral behavior.
A God & bible are not needed for moral behavior.

More importantly, can you recognize the humanness of yourself and your enemy?

If not, then the world is already condemned, and not even a deity should one exist could save us.

I have problems recognising humanity in others. I've seen too much inhumanity to be convinced that people are innately good.

I'm not so sure my neighbour IS human. He's just a little too hairy.
