I have an old picture, about 1945-50 which shows a serviceman at a bar on Chauncy Street in SF, CA. Was the street name changed or was it done away with or what? It had to be a hangout for WWII vets or servicemen. Anybody know?

Perhaps this Chauncey Street was in one of the other cities around San Francisco. Maybe it was around Sacramento, San Diego, or an Army base. Help.

Maybe the serviceman was being named in the pic?

Look at the husband's name:

WITH THE WAR OVER AND LITTLE REWARDS WERE EVER MADE FOR THE WAS NO MONEY BUT SUM FAME CAME TO TH ROUGHS WHO WERE ACCREDITED AS GIVEN STREET NAMES AND ALL THE BARS WERE IN THE LIME LIGHT OF CITIES COULD EASILY BE CHANGED AS CHAUNCEY IS SO VICTORIAN AND OUT OF DATE, A WOULD BELIEVE THAT THE STREET WAS RENAMED
