As described in my post from last week, (http://sg.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070127095803AALztkj ) the problem seems to be lingering.

Now, the numbness seems to be worse on the bottom of my shoulder blade. It really seems to be in the skin, not the muscle. Also, the spot that is numb seems to be turning red, almost like a bruise. Could this be some sort of infection under the skin?

Well, I went to the doctor yesterday, and as expected she couldn't find anything wrong with me. She says the numbness seems strange, since it doesn't seem to follow any known pattern.

In any event, the numbness is still there, and she told me to take some advil and call them back if it isn't any better in a couple of weeks and she'll consider send me for physical therapy.

What are you waiting for? Go to the doctor!

You need to see a doctor. A walk in clinic can see you without an appointment today. You are going to need Xrays and an exam. Had you listed your city I could find a walk in clinic or ER for you, otherwise google it. www.google.com Enter you city, state, "walk in clinic" and you should have luck.

This is NOT normal and you need to see a doctor. Avoiding a doctor now can cause serious issues further down the road especially if it is indeed infected.

Numbness is not a good sign, and you could be doing yourself some serious damage by going untreated.

Go to a walk in clinic, or your local Emergency Room if you have no other options. No appointment needed, just walk right in!

1st see a massage therapist.
2nd learn more to help them help you or for self use - read The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies. It teaches about muscles, pain and referred pain, best how to fix it.

If you are under a lot of stress, you could have shingles. That is one of the most painful afflictions one can live through. I wish you the best.

You make all necessary tests for diagnosis. But Allopathy doesn't have treatment, all patients complain. You will get treatment at Acupuncture treatment centre. PL search and go there.

Yes....it could be a skin infection from what you have discribed. I'd make sure its not herpes!!
Please go to ER or MD's office.
