I pretty much tried to avoid holding hands with any girl in HS. And yes, I made out with plenty of them but never really had a true "girlfriend" for up to a month or more.
Btw, when you get older, you don't do it so much to show you love that person. You do it more often because your hands are cold or (as a guy) you're trying to keep your girl from falling/tripping/stumbling.

i've been going out for 4 months, + we haven't held hands or kissed yet, but my BF hates PDA, and is sort of shy... i guess it depends on when you both feel comfortable...
go to a scary movie + hold his hand when it gets scary...
as long as you're both okay with it, it is fine to hold hands on the 1st date, i know some people that hold hands the second they are asked out...

well if i had a girl friend id start holding hands rite away when your with him im not really good at doing this kind if stuff havnt had a girl friend so just do wat you think feels rite
