My husband is a truck driver but also loads the truck and delivers. The windchill here is 20*F below zero (very very low, even for the normal middle of winter.) and the factory where they laod has no heat. The boss is very ignorant and will yell and swear at his workers as it is, but today my husband mentioned something about only being able to come in and warm up 2 times all day and he got yelled at and boss threatend to fire him. Is this leagal? who can I talk to about this and how?

Board of Labor and look into some OSHA laws. By law if you work 4hrs. straight you have to have a lunch break that is the only rule I now. I use to work at a grocery store and if it was a certain temp outside lie two hot you could only bring in three carts at a time. So I would think that there should be laws like that for him. Good luck. Oh tell your husband if he can to document everything so that he has proof of what is going on.

You don't say where you live, but I would think that there is some kind of employment law in place? Your husband should get the other drivers/staff to join him - have a meeting with the boss, keep it calm and civilised! - but let him know that it is not acceptable to treat his workforce like this. Would his boss be willing to work under the same conditions? I don't think so.......

Good luck
