My girlfriend and I had a pregnancy scare a few weeks ago. She has been on a business trip for two weeks. I love having sex with her , but the pregnancy scare, well, scared me. Is this normal??. I want to have sex, but I am hesitant.

Well, its normal. You are probably not ready yet for children. Its normal. However, instead of just being scared, take action not to impregnate your gf. Wear condom all the time when you have sex. Or let her use pill regularly, prescribed by a professional doctor. Only then can you be sure.

Any time you have sex, there is the possibility of getting pregnant. It happened to us, unexpectedly, and you have to do the best you can. Financially, it couldn't have happened at a worse time, but fortunately that was the only drawback, since we were getting married soon anyway. But you on the other hand, probably aren't ready for married life, kids, and the whole thing. The worst tragedy of bringing a baby to life is not caring for it once it's conceived. So you're right to worry--it is a HUGE responsibility, and many many people fail miserably at caring for the children they have.
Talk with your girlfriend and discuss what would happen if you did have a baby. Then take all the precautions you can. If a "mistake" does happen, then you will at least have discussed it with her and maybe be a little more prepared. Wish you the best.

It is quite normal to feel hesitant about sex after your 'scare'. I think at some point in most dating couples lives, they experience a pregnancy scare of some sort even if you are using contraception. Are you using contraception? If not, and your not planning a child yet, maybe you should think about it.
