I am going to call the doctor, but I do not want to over react as this is my first pregnancy and it is all new to me. My husband obviously is no help.. :) Any pregnant ladies want to chime in. Thank you..

I'm willing to bet that it's just your body reacting to your growing belly. Your muscles are becoming stretched or the baby may be sitting on something sensitive. I don't think you have anything to worry about, but if you are insecure by all means call the midwife or doctor. I experienced the same & my doctor gave me magnesium supplements. This is about the time it starts to get uncomfortable so take it easy! Congratulations!

I went to the ER with my first child at 26 weeks with abdominal cramping. They checked my cervix and did an ultrasound, plus kept me overnight on a fetal monitor just to be sure everything was okay. And everything was. My doctor decided that most likely what was going on was my uterus stretching. And my daughter was born 100% healthy at 41 weeks. I'm sure it's nothing, but just to be on the safe side, have it checked out. It'll put your mind at rest and you can relax and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy. Good luck!!

I had the same problem...I was spotting though, and I nearly miscarried--not once, but twice.

Sometimes, though, the cramping can be caused by the stretching of your uterus. Now, I wouldn't be alarmed unless you are having spotting and contractions.
