What are the worst things to do on a singles night, without stating the obvious?

I'm already finding out what to wear:

http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070205054951AAAwa68

So now I need to brush up on my ... etiquette. What would you suggest? It's quite informal, you now, loads of people mingling, the odd few stuck inside the dark corners. I must also mention that it's at an Art Gallery - logic says (at this point) that it's of a higher caliber than other Singles Nights.

Any tips would be very helpful.

Also, please help me on what to wear - http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070205054951AAAwa68

Thanks.

Just be yourself and don't appear to proud of yourself! Talk about what you like and be honest, it's gonna be better to find someone with the same interests!

Art Gallery party in 2007

don't wear a tie

do wear an ironed patterned dress shirt. (not loud)

smart new jeans are also good with nice shoes

just because it's informal you don't want to look like a bum, but it isn't the office meeting so you don't want to look uptight.

don't be a corner person

walk around and enjoy the art

smile

say hello

be polite

hold the door

be assertive not aggressive

it is a singles night not a night club, so everyone knows that they are there to meet people. That's the whole reason to have it.

don't insult or cut up other people in the room to whoever you may be talking to .

respect is the number one thing to remember

and smile is number 2

I have to admit though the salt thing across the table that guy wrote was hilarious!!

Don't
* Wear a wedding ring
* Tell people that you are a NInja Assasin working for the government (unless you are of course)
* Get mullered before you go
* Pretend to know loads about art & rabble on to someone about a certain painting
*Be one of those sitting in a dark corner

Do

*Be yourself
*Give an honest opinion if someone asks you about a certain painting - if it's rubbish, say so (& vice versa!)
*Mingle & speak to as many people as possible

The worst thing? Well, I wouldn't hit anyone, trip anyone, spill a drink. I mean, you've been on a date before, right? It's pretty simple. Be yourself, open the door for the ladies. Don't spend too much time with just one girl unless you are really into her. Don't be obnoxious, too cocky, don't act like you are funniest person in the world. Actually listen to the ladies and don't stare at their freakin breasts even if they are on display. Oh, don't drink too much either, it's a turn off. Have fun.

The best: Casual dress pants and a dress shirt.
The worst: A tequila tshirt that says, Lick it-Slam it-Suck it!..lol
Have a wonderful time! : )

The best advice I can give you, and please do take heed, do not - I repeat, DO NOT get your c0ck out and push the salt across the table with it.

It's an easy mistake to make, but it will not do you any good.

Good luck
