Dayquil during the day when I have to be at work. Nyquil at night so I can sleep. I also rub my chest with vicks before going to bed and have a vaporizer with vicks in my room to help me breath better while I sleep.
During the day, I make sure to drink plenty of water so I stay hydrated.
Oh, I also keep a bottle of water by my bed so that I don't have to get out of my nice warm bed if I'm thirsty in the middle of the night.
Those 3 layered kleenex with lotion are also really great. Their so gentle on the nose.

Nothing really affects the duration. Paracetamol or ibuprofen (Not if you have stomach problems!) reduce fever and aches and pains and a decongestant may dry up the nose a little. Otherwise plenty of fluids. Staying in bed does nothing at all, better to be up and about.

1. Airborne in warm water-this is a homeopathic remedy chock full of herbs and vitamins such as echnicia, zinc and vit. C
2. Chicken soup with lots of black pepper. The pepper helps clear out the nasal passages so you can blow your nose without giving yourself an anyrusymn.
3. Mentholanum under the nose helps to dry out nasal passages at night so you don't get a sore throat.
4. Soft tissues so that you avoid the roudoulph syndrome.
5. Cough drops to help moisten the throat.
6. Hot shower, steam works wonders. Of course a warm air humidifier works too or a steam room.
7. Increase the water drank to help flush out the toxins posioning your body and causing you to become ill.
8. Rest, if you are tired sleep, it is your bodys way of telling you to slow down.
9. Cover the mouth since the more people it spreads to the more chance of getting it again after getting better.

They say feed a cold, starve a fever. I guess you should eat good healthy food, drink plenty of fluids, and rest. Don't forget to wash your hands often, and change your bed linen often.
