I have this guy and he is a friend, but really a little more than a friend but that is what we call ourselves, what can I get him without being too pushy or too lovey dovey, but just something nice and simple to say I like you alot.

Maybe a nice card. Or you two should go out to a movie, or play and to dinner and just have a day of fun.

If a woman gave me anything on Valentine's Day (which is a terrible holiday btw) I would take it as some form of affection unless she specifically says this is a friendship gift. My advice (coming from a dude) BE ABSOLUTELY CLEAR .... but its sounds like you like him anyway LOL!
