This is one thing I found, I am looking for the same theme, my daughter is turning 10 this month and we are having a movie sleep over...
One thing we decided to do was to decorate some paper bags for holding our popcorn...
I also found some paper craft stuff for making some movie tickets...cardstock and stamps, craft scissors with pinked and other edges, glitter pens and glue...stickers...
I also found some plain plastic soft drink cups at a local store that the girls are also going to decorate with foam craft bits, not washable but, fun for one night...
we are doing some garnish yourself english muffin pizzas, cut up the toppings and put out some sauce and let them go for it...just supervise the broiler oven part...serving the really decadent Cinnabon and Movie Theater style popcorn, nachos and movie theatre style candy like milk buds and junior mints and Boom! Done...( we will have some Children's Mylanta on hand as we might need it...lol)
we didn't want to do very many complicated crafts because we are going to have a couple of movies as well...plus, we have prezzies and cake and icecream, the usual...
The movie consensus was Herbie, Fully Loaded (we are going to have a Herbie cake as well, shhhh!)...and Dreamer, picked and voted on by the girls attending...
When each girls goes home, I am giving them a large Hershey bar, like the ones at the movie theater, with a specially made wrapper (computer printer craft) thanking them for coming to the party...I got the idea from the promotional ones we got when we went to see Willy Wonka a year or two ago...
Speaking of printers, go to www.printsville.com by HP to find some printer crafts they might like, I could've sworn I saw a movie themed one there once...
We were going to do a pic frame in the black and white movie chalkboard thing-y style and give each girl a pic from the sleepover...you know, the chalkboard snappy thing that shows the takes on movie sets...I don't know what they are called...and since we didn't even know what to call the darn thing we decided it just seemed like too much work...so, we kept it simple...
Have fun, I'm sure we will...

You could match the theme with the specific movie. For instance, if the movie was Happy Feet (the penguin movie) you could do an Eskimo or animal theme, with favors relating to the cold, snow, ice, or penguins.
Also the movie is based on a book, you could give all the girls copies of the book to read later, as party favors.
Sounds like a fun party is in the works! Best wishes.

All of this depends on the age or the children of course. Have theme night. Since it is October watch football (The Longest Yard or Any Given Sunday) or World Series (Angels in the Outfield or Major League) movies. Eat cold hot dogs and drink warm beer. Turn off the furnace, open the windows and watch the movies under blankets. Do I need to give you Halloween ideas? Anything scary, wear costumes and eat candy until you get bellyaches. Planes Trains and Automobiles is a great Thanksgiving movie. Too many Christmas movie to name. You can have New York or Chicago or LA theme nights. New York: Almost anything by Woody Allen, eat deli food like pastrami and be really rude. Chicago: Blues Brothers or The Untouchables, eat deep dish pizza and put out lawn chairs to keep neighbors from parking in front of your house. LA: LA Confidential or Valley Girl, eat sushi (better yet binge and purge) and apply fake suntans. I could go on and on.

If you want the crafts to be movie themed- what about doing movie star hair and makeup on each other? Then have them do "headshots" taking glamorous pictures- you could buy some cheap feather boas at the party store and maybe some cheap costume jewelry (or use any of yours that you don't care what happens to them).

Do a Hawaiian theme.. get coconut cups, lays, flowers to put in your hair and grass skirts. That is always fun.. especially when it is cold outside.. you can make a summer of it inside. Buy fiesta napkins and little umbrellas to put in the drinks. Serve pineapple cubes on toothpicks or make a pineapple upside cake. Coconut cookies.. stuff like that. Sounds like fun to me.. Good luck.

Ten and eleven - tis all about growing up now, the clothes, the jewelry, the hair things, nails.......perhaps making T-shirts or a jewelry project....something that is similar for all them. Nothing expresses your tweener individuality like looking exactly like your best friends!

You can let them string popcorn and then hang it out for the birds to eat. You can also buy several individually wrapped bars of different candies and let the kids have fun making up sentences that have to use at least 2 of the candies names in them like :"I told my mom some real whoppers and boy did my starburst when she caught me" They can do it in teams and earn points for each unique one.

Girls that age usually love anything with beads. They could make bracelets, necklaces, etc. How about mini scrapbooks??? You could ask them to bring some photos to the party, and you supply the paper, stickers, etc...

you could get some lady friends to donate some dresses and evening wear, then the girls could dress up and make their own movie. you could be the director, so they don't break the camera.
