Someone once told me I should boil the crap out of them, then cover them in BBQ sauce and roast them in the oven. Others have told me - "Don't boil them!!! That's a sin!" Still, others have suggested that I grill them outside, which I am not going to do considering the sub-arctic temperatures we're experiencing at the moment (my apologies to the "global warming" types).

Anyway, my desired result is meat that practically falls off the bone. Any suggestions?

I know this may sound simplistic but cook them in a crockpot.They will fall off the bone and taste fantastic.Plus the sauce will be absorded into the ribs.You can boil them first to get the fat out, but I've just thrown them in the crockpot.If possible cook on low.Just make sure they are cooked all the way through.I don't want you to get sick.

I agree with the person that told you to boil them, smother them in BBQ sauce, then put them in the oven and slowly roast...that is how I've always done my pork ribs and they fall off of the bone. Good Luck!

Plum Glazed Pork Ribs

INGREDIENTS
4 1/2 pounds baby back pork ribs
12 fluid ounces chili sauce
10 ounces plum sauce
1/4 cup soy sauce

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Prepare a shallow roasting pan with foil and spray the foil with non stick cooking spray. Place ribs on foil and bake uncovered 45 minutes.
While ribs are baking, heat chili sauce, plum sauce and soy sauce in a 1 quart saucepan to boiling; stirring constantly. Set aside.
After ribs have cooked for 45 minutes brush them with 1/2 cup of the sauce and place back in oven and bake until tender; 45 to 60 minutes. While ribs are baking, brush them 2 or 3 times with the remaining sauce.

I can't give you my recipie... It is probably older than you are and better than anything anyone ever put into their mouths...

Heres a hint though...

Dry rub, in the oven

Wet sauce afterward and as a result of the above...

finish on the grill.

anyone who boils ribs... shouldn't be allowed in a kitchen let alone near a grill...

Alton Brown has something similar to mine on the Food network website. That is the basic technique that is best for ribs.

we boil about 375lb of rib a week
boil them four about two hours add some liquid smoke
let cool them smoke them in the grill
add BBQ sauce last
if you put that on to soon it will burn and the ribs will taste like crap

We did these "Who Loves Ya Baby-Back" ribs from Alton Brown and the Food Network for the Super Bowl. They were outstanding.

i just had them last night.......what i did was season them let them sit in the fridge for bout 5 hours......than i boiled them till they were almost done.....than i threw them in my toaster oven at 400 and set it on broil for 20 mins........dont add the bbq sauce till they come out the broiler.......a tech. i learned from being a waitress is u throw them in a bowl and pour the bbq sauce in....put the lid on and shake shake shake.....they were yummy!!

Low 'n' slow. With smoke, not fire. Takes all day, but OOOOOO-boy, is it worth it!
