It is an interesting question. The Judeo-Christian faith indicates that God wants worship and we are to have no other gods in competition with God. You'd think that God would be so self- sufficient as to not care whether humans believe and worship, or not. This tends to lead to the idea that our worship would meet a need of God: therefore being an entity who is not totally omni-sufficient.

Would you care if your children were against you? How would that make you feel? Of course He cares.
But look, with the crap thats being taught, its not a surprize to me that alot of people don't believe. Stories like the rapture, for instance - where people disappear from cars on the road, and they crash. Thats not in the manuscripts, its stupid stories that people come up with. Another really good one is the creationists who say this earth is only about 6000 yrs old - the Bible says this earth is eons and eons old, and even that there was an earth age before this one. There isn't any controversy between the truth of Gods Word, and true Science. Its just stupid, unlearned people.
I really think that if you understood what God is really saying and dumped all this bullshit you hear from people, you might have a hugh change of heart. I really do.

First, I weren't and I will never be in God(ALLAH)'s shoe, and I have never think about that.
Second, If you are talking about God(ALLAH), please talk about him by more respectable way than that, because you can't ask humans what God(ALLAH) shall do.
third, God(ALLAH) never care if the humans belief in him or not, because he has alot of angels who worship him all the time, on the other hand, the matter " If humans belief in God(ALLAH) or not " does not degrade him as the God(ALLAH) of the whole universe who create all the creature from nothing.
There is no God except ALLAH the creator, who we must belief in him and worship him to go his heavens in the other life, and if we do not, we will go to hell, so he sent the prophets, the holy book and the Quran.

If you are referring to the one God, Jehovah in Christianity, just as a parent cares for their children and wants them to do well and as instructed, then I would think of course God cares. You may belittle yourself by your own question and you are incapable in seeing in Gods mind and purpose. Good and evil and the correct way of life is His word for us. Do you think any person that does not know you at all, gives a dern about you? There lies the difference.

Yes. Especially if I loved the people and they could be more happy in the long run if they did believe in me and follow my plan. Then I would really care if they believed in me or not.

God does not make us believe you have free will to choose that. God will always exist even if no one chose to believe in him. Yes God does care. He is our Father. He created us because he loved us. He sent his Son Jesus to die for us because he loves us. But he knew before he created Adam and Eve that many would not believe in him.

since I would have created them - yes

what have you ever created with your own 2 hands that you haven't cared about?

When parents give birth to a baby - they care about it.

when an architect builds a 200 storey building - s/he cares about it

when an engineer finds a new way to design a surgical instrument - he cares about it
when a doctor or research scientist finds a new cure for something - s/he cares

etc
etc
etc

addition: you are actually adding a layer of human emotion to your equation - to care would imply that it's possible to not care - which of course humans have the choice to do. However in understanding who God is (which many of the answerers here seem to have questions or outright don't know or understand) is to know that God is Love, and so the conclusion would be - if you were God - you would care because that's what a loving all knowing all seeing all encompassing omipotent CREATOR would do.

Me - no, I'm human and can only think in human ways. But God is different. He loves each and everyone of His children and wants the best for them.
