well, hopefully now that people have had it shoved in thier faces that Bernard Matthews Turkeys have nothing natural about them they will keep away.
How anyone can eat turkeys raised in this way beats me.
Look at my picture, thats how poultry should be raised., in the sunshine on the open grass.
...and we'll have non of that Sainsbury's or Tesco "free range" or "Organic" nonsense please, they are just trapped birds with the sun on their beaks. Done in order to passify the guilty and charge more.
If you factory raise birds in such cramped unnatural conditions you are raising the risk. unfortunately at the expense of the birds lives. Shame on all that eat this stuff.

i presume you mean turkey in light of recent events at the Suffolk farm that is part of the Bernard Mathews group.
to be honest, no food we eat is ever 100% safe but with meat it is worse, you have to be extra careful when preparing it and during cooking to make sure it is thoroughly cooked.
in the event of poultry it needs to be cooked and handled with great care. make sure there is no red areas and the fluids run clear before you event consider eating it (when cooking a whole bird for example).
i certainly am not put off eating poultry because of this outbreak.
of h5n1 bird flu. as you can not catch the flu by eating the infected birds providing they are properly cooked. though higher health and safety in the kitchen should be observed when preparing and cooking your birds.
it appears that the factory has some workers that appear to come from eastern Europe, could one of those have transferred the disease inadvertently to the factory farm perhaps?
or was it a wild bird that is to blame?
or other reason as yet to be determined?
we may never know for certain as to the source of the outbreak.
so i'd have to say yes turkey is bootiful. though i should say i never buy that brand anyway. or much poultry full stop. I live and eat alone so buying fresh meat for one is not practical.
