I am currently planning my wedding. My favorite color is yellow, and want to add another color to it. The wedding will be in June of next year, so there is plenty of time to plan, and yellow is a good summer color. I was thinking about black. I don't see a problem with black at a wedding because they will only be used as accents. Is it alright to have black be part of the color scheme for a wedding? Also, does anybody know of a sight where you can different color schemes put together. This is the only problem with the entire wedding, the colors! Any comments are appreciated.

This could go either way. I think that you should pick the colors that you like because it is "your day". For a summer wedding the color yellow is great. I'm not real sure if you should go with black. It will feel a little too bumble bee and black is not usually a good color for a wedding in this time of year. Yellow would be great with a number of other colors but black wouldn't be my first choice.

I think you should use any color you want. But try to stay away from anything the resembles a bee!
I am also doing yellow for my wedding. But I'm doing more of a pastel yellow, and a chocolate Brown. If you want to stick with black, try to soften the yellow to a pastel or pale color so it doesn't look so bumble bee like!
Good Luck with it, and happy planning!

Yellow is pretty for the bridemaids dresses and add the color white, like a sheer white shaw over the shoulders. And they wear glass or clear shoes with yellow designs on it. And the men will already have on black tux , white shirt and add yellow bow ties and a yellow handerchiefs to the tux. Good Luck. Congratulations on Wedding.

Black is a good color when you have a candlelight or evening wedding. If that's not the case I'd go with a cream color or a purple (complimentary color on color wheel)

BTW, I had coral and black at my evening wedding and it was very nice.

Mine were black, white and red, I even had black flower petals on my cake with red roses. It was different and unique! So from a Pittsburgher who is so used to Black and Gold/yellow...Go for it girl.

Yellow is nice, but not with black. It will look like a bee. Yellow is hard to work with. I would incorporate it into other colors to make a summery effect. :ike yellows, peaches and light greens.

I think that a soft shade of yellow would look lovely for summer.Adding accent colors like a light purple and white would be absolutely georgeous.

You'll have to be careful to avoid looking like a bumblebee, marching band, or a football team! Or else go whole hog and use the bee theme for the whole thing, lol!

I think yellow is fine.

Well, the biggest problem is the bee problem.
For June, you surely could add a happier colour - how about aqua, or coral.
For my wedding, I had teal, lilac, pink and yellow. It was awesome for co-ordinating and decorating, and HAPPY!
