It depends on the individual. I am black and dating a white guy. But I know what his intentions are. With relationships like these, people tend to question what is the real deal. I would say what to do is ignore the color of skin and look at the inside. He (the guy you are asking about) could be serious and not a player. But that is for you to find out by talking to him seriously and get to know him truly. Probably he had a rotten relationship with other girls and chose you because he likes you for your qualities. The future can only be answered if you go into it safe and not all curious. Be open and you might learn things from him. Plus try ignoring the stigma that socity places on inter racial couples. Doing that would give you a clear mind of how to proceed with the guy.

Think4yorself gave a great answer. It's true that mostly Black men date white women, but that doesn't mean Black women won't date white men. Some, not all, Black women would be more than willing to date you. Please do not think that all Black women want "thugs". Find some Black women who share similar interests; perhaps there are some professional organizations that you could join. You might want to try church; I've been visiting several non-denominational Christian churches and I see many people of various ethnicities. Good luck to you!

Of course there's a chance a white guy could like you!
He obviously likes you for just being you. It shows he's a caring individual who isn't going to let something minor like skin colour affect his thinking. He sounds like someone who's very open minded and truly interested in you as a person.
My advice - accept his offer of a date and see how it goes. He could me the man of your dreams, so don't waste the opportunity to meet him and see what he's like.
As for the future, I think that there will always be small-minded people who'll have issues with mixed race couples, but if its something that works for the couple and if you two tackle things as a team, then it should work out well.
So, take the chance on him...and good luck!!!

If his motives are pure, then yes, it is a good chance. The amount of melanin in your skin should not be a deterrant if he truly loves you. I will caution you, however, that your relatives may not be so understanding. I have known a few people who have had relatives get in the way so much, that they had to make a choice between the person they love, and their relatives. I hope you never face that situation, but if you are truly in love with him too, then you should go for it.

I think black chicks are hot as they have big eyes and a curvacious figure. Try going out with him. He's just a guy, after all. Have some confidence!

Me personally race doesn't matter. Maybe he noticed the way you look in a certain light or you told a joke or said something he couldn't get out of his head. My black coffee w/ a little bit of cream(her name, not mine) Was an amazing woman once we got past all the bull.

He may just like you for you and not for the color of your skin, it does happen. I dated a Beautiful Black Lady back in the late 80's, not because of her shin color, but because of what was under her skin. If you take him up on his offer and do date him, you will have to deal with a lot of looks, comments and sighs. But it is well wroth it if you two hit it off...

You never know until you try. Guys are guys, regardless of color. Stop being so closed minded. If you keep talking, thinking and acting like this he'll quickly see how ignorant you are and not even bother.

Well, I started dating my wife 31 years ago; been married the last 27.
Has it ever occurred to you that it's nothing to do with race, that he simply likes you?
