You have a rampaging infection.

Go to a doctor and get a presciption antibiotic. Don't mess with OTC or herbal crap or you'll end up with a scarred, permanantly damaged urinary system and possibly damaged kidneys.

there really isn't anything you can take over the counter to clear up an infection. You can take Uristat (over the counter drug) to help with any discomfort you have during urination. If you have an infection it should be treated with proper antibiotics to prevent the spread of the infection to the kidney which can become a serious problem.
If you are worried about the bill and you can go to a county hospital, ask if your ER has an 'indigent' program for billing. They may be able to help reduce your bill by 50% or more. Hope you feel better soon!

There are several over the counter mediciations - Cystex, AZO and Uristate - but these medicines don't cure bladder infections. They only offer pain relief. Your symptoms definitely signify an infection or something more serious, so I would suggest getting in to see a doctor asap. If you don't get this under control you could end up developing more severe complications.

i had a bladder infection last year - i wasnt sure what it was coz id never had one before and i get so embarrassed going to the doctors about these things - but it hurt so much after a few days - it you leave it too long you start peeing blood - i went to the doctor - they just let u go to the toilet and pee in a cup and then they check it - it only takes one second - they look under the microscope. The she wrote me a prescription and it started feeling better the next day and after a few days it was all better. Good Luck!

You should really see a doc as untreated without antibiotics it might get a lot worse, the infection can spread to other areas. However, one thing that really seems to work is drinking Cranberry Juice...perhaps it's too late this time but drinking it as a preventative measure is a good idea. Once you get one infection they often become recurring. Hope you feel better soon :-)

Bacterial UTIs can involve the urethra, prostate, bladder, or kidneys. Symptoms may be absent or include urinary frequency, urgency, and dysuria; lower abdominal pain; and flank pain. Systemic symptoms and even sepsis may occur with kidney infection. Diagnosis is based on analysis and culture of urine. Treatment is with antibiotics.

If you have a true infection, you will need to see a doctor and get some antibiotics, that's the only way to get rid of it. To prevent it, drink cranberry juice or take cranberry supplements from a health food or vitamin store.

I hope you feel better soon.

Forget the cranberry it is high in sugar and infact will not help.

Lemon barley is better for the bladder. but antibotics and loads of water will help.

I have always just taken cranberry pills or I drink a lot of cranberry juice. I do agree, you probably should see a doctor, just in case it's something else.
