Why is it that you can get reading glasses in the supermarket for 20 bucks but if you go to the eyeglass store they want at least 100. What is the difference? The frames in the supermarket are the same quality as the lower end frames at the eyeglass store.

I'm with U Westport, why pay the $ for a better frame. I'm wearing some from CVS that I've had 4 several years. I keep a few pair around but what the heck for $12-$20 U can't beat it 4 reading glasses.

Actually the frames are not nearly as good at the supermarket. Also the ones at the supermarket are set for a very wide eye size that most people are not and both eyes are always the same prescription. Most people do not have eyes that are exactly the same power. The lenses in the optical shop are a higher quality and usually have a warranty on them
