There are 12 Rasi and these 12 Rasi will contain the natchatras based on the (Pathas=(Every Natchatra has 4 Quarter)). These 12 Rasis & 27 Natchatirams are ruled by 7 Grahas as rahu and ketu the two grahas are called the chaya grahas they dont have the place here. We as indians believe in fate, destiny and karma..Also many of us follow astrology..As a parent, we always want to give the best in life to our childeren..may it be the brought up or the things we buy for them or anything for that matter...So as usual, since we believe in the God and astrology, we have a tendency to feel that if we name according to the birth star, everything good may happen to them(our sapling)..so people usually name according to the birth star..but it depends on how u trust these and varies from individual to individual..
