I was told by payroll, that it was okay to go ahead and file, just to make sure that who ever files notes that it is wrong, I was going to file online. Can I still file as they stated or do I need to ask for them to get me another w-2? I have the idea they are not going to re-issue them due to the 100's of employees that we have.

Be careful with your zip code. Delivering 13 billion pieces of mail each day, the Post Office has time only to use the Zip Code to get it to the right post office, unless an alert clerk sees the error. And machines do much of the sorting. However, the carrier of the address often knows the correct names at the address and will notice a wrong name, then notice the wrong zip. But maybe not, if everything else is correct. The carrier is obligated to attempt delivery if the address seems correct, since he or she can't know all the people that get mail at an address. Relatives, visitors, employees, all may get an unexpected piece of mail at an address. Best regards, Mike

Don't worry about it. It won't be a problem. Put in the right zip code when you file.

As long as your surname and SSN are correct, there's nothing to worry about. There's no need for them to re-issue the W2 so they're not likely to do it.
