Hello

I want to build a kerosene freezer that will work as efficiently as top commercial brands. Can anyone help me with technical drawings. I need a schematic diagram of a kerosene freezer that will give accurate dimensions, type ,quality and quantity of materials to be used.

Would anyone give me such a plan or recommend where I can buy one?

Regards

Harry

A "kerosene freezer" is actually an ammonia absorption refrigerator using a kerosene flame for the power input. This technology is very old and hence very well developed in commercial practice. Most large ice-making plants use ammonia as the working fluid rather than Freon (halogenated hydrocarbons). It is also popular where electrical power is not readily or continuously available, such as RV refrigerators.

It is probably not practical for someone unskilled in the art to design and build an ammonia absorption refrigerator, much less one that is as efficient as a commercial brand. If I were to seriously undertake such a task, the first step would be to buy a commercial product so it could be disassembled and "reverse engineered". The second step would be to put the commercial product back together again and demonstrate that it worked at least as well as it did when new. If you can do these two things, then you are ready to build your own refrigerator from scratch.

A good place to begin is here: http://www.nh3tech.org/absorption.html

You will need excellent skills in welding seamless stainless steel tubing and a good understanding of the ammonia refrigeration cycle to allow you to calculate the proper ammonia charge. Good luck finding anhydrous ammonia in small quantities. It is used in agriculture for fertilizer, but an ammonia refrigerator probably needs less than a cup of it.

I think Sri Vidya Rajgopalan has given the correct answer. But the Answer is very long. Let me explain you in short. Ram built a Bridge instead of ship because he thought, if in the war with Ravana more army of Varana is required then it will be easy to bring reinforcement through a Bridge Than to send ship.
