I think you mean Mark 6:4, but that's not exactly what it means--at least not directly. The idea is more that those who have a special calling will have difficulty finding anything but skepticism among those who are familiar with them. You might be able to extend it to the situation to which you are referring, but it's a bit of a stretch.

It was a quote out of the OT by Jesus in Matthew 13:57 "So they were offended at Him. But Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor except in his own country and in his own house."
