I think they would not, as Santa brings presents. My youngest was brought up with no suggestion of a Santa, but she believed all by herself from the Christmas cartoons on tv, and from school.

It would last a year, maybe two, then they would bail on the idea. Children are smart, and they remember better than we realize. It isn't until we are older that we can be easily manipulated.

Santa Claus and God are the same manipulative story, just told to different audiences. "Be good (obey these commandments) and you will receive a present (heaven) on Christmas (after you die).

And with that manipulation comes guilt and pain. Organized religion is shameful.

Probably... They would probably blame themselves for not getting any presents. Really the mentality of Santa goes hand in hand with the mentality of Christianity. If good things happen (even if you worked hard for it) the credit goes to Jesus... If something doesn't happen or something bad happens it's your fault.

Self abuse.

Perhaps. It would just be a different myth. A kind guy sprinkling "Christmas magic" through the air, instead of leaving presents.

HI Peanut,
They should. He did exist. He is no longer living but I still have read about him and I am certain that others have also. His deeds were talked about all over this world. Have a great day.

Sure. Many people believe in God even though he doesn't bring them any presents.
