is it just me or does everyone else have 1000's of odd socks!!!!!! how annoying is this!!!

It is sods law, if you throw them away, the odd ones will all come out from where they were hiding and then you'll have the other odd one.
So you need to trick the socks. Put all the odd ones in a bag and pretend you are going to throw them away, leave it a few washes and the hiding socks will gradually re-appear thinking it is safe.
As soon as you see one - POUNCE! Then simply retrieve the other sock and pair them.
(Don't let the other socks see you pouncing else word will get around and the rest won't come out.)

I have a little pile of odd socks right by the side of my washing machine, sometimes I get a pair doing a wash later on where one must have been missed out or something, but generally once a sock goes in there, they aint coming back out.
Strange isnt it?

It's when they both vanish completely that it gets worrying. But i have a theory - Socks and gloves are actually wild animals. When you aren't looking they make a break for freedom and escape. There are herds of wild socks, mittens, gloves etc roaming the countryside picking up those strays that have just broken free. It is the only thing that would explain how so many go missing in such a short space of time.

I know exactly what you mean!! I have this problem in my house, and used to spend lots of money a month on new socks..now i just put them in odd ones!!
I have no idea where they go to!!

i know try buying on of those bags to put in your machine and tell everyonein the house to put ther socks in there. then hey no more odd socks

Its the sock fairy! shes obviously been to your house as well. she likes to go into the washing machine just before you take out your clothes to dry and take one sock. Sometimes she's tricky - she will wait util you have hung them out on the line and then take one!
Also she has a cousin - the bobby pin fairy - who steals all of your hair pins or takes the protective wax ending off the end of the prongs so that when you put one in your hair you stab your scalp. They are both evil - EVIL

Just you! J/K I put my daughter's socks, since they are small enough, into one of those mesh laundry bags. Then they stay in one place, don't get lost in the machine, or stuck inside anything else. I imagine you could do the same with bigger ones, if that is your problem.

No its not just you. There are 10 in our household and that is a **** load of socks...I think that they should sell socks in threes, so when the washing machine swallows one you still have a pair left............

I do to, sometimes I sort them all out and throw out any single socks then about aweek later the missing ones turn up.

My sons drawer is full of odd socks and i just cant find the partners,i`ve searched high and low!!
