Interesting question...and it will probably go over the head of most responders (because they won't take the time to actually consider the question).
I would say that those who believe in God are shown to be open-minded by the very fact that they are believers. To believe in absolutely nothing...to place one's self at the center of the universe...takes no effort whatsoever. That type of response is nothing more than what comes naturally to humans. By nature, we accept only the things we can verify in the physical...via touch, taste, etc. God exists outside of our physical dimension. We can see the evidence of His hand in our lives, even if we cannot see him physically. A close-minded person shuts out the very thought of God's existence, and won't even consider that there might be something more to life....that is, something beyond what our 5 senses can comprehend...
In everyday application ALL people have a tendency towards close-mindedness...it takes great effort to step outside our preconceived notions. This affliction is an unfortunate trait of both deists and atheists.

Quite frankly, I find that 'close-mindedness' runs both ways. What are the qualities of one we call close-minded? To believe in something without budging for the opinion of others. This also applies to Atheists as well as Theists.
Really, go through here and look at the answers. When I did, there was not a single one that was positive for religion. Not a single one that showed charity towards other. Instead, they were very close-minded and prejudiced against religion, just as they claim that religions are to them.
So, tell me, why are religions and theists consindered close-minded by close-minded people? It's because, like them, we are not budging from our posts and beliefs. Theists and Atheists are so much alike, it's hard to tell them apart.

May you NOT bash and throw profaity at Believers and Theists in this question?
Do NOT say whatever you want. My question is.. Why are theists NOT close-minded?
Translation:
May you bash and throw profaity at Believers and Theists in this question?
No thanks, they're own words bash them enough by showing their true hypocrisy.
Do say whatever you want. My question is.. Why are theists close-minded?
Because they don't think for themselves, they are told what to believe, they blindly follow what is taught to them.

This is... a VERY difficult question to answer. Probably the hardest question I've ever seen on here. I think you may have actually stumped me. They're not closed-minded because... Oh, my won't you look at the time!? I've got to be running.
There. I did it. No instults and no profanity.

This is not a bashing and profanity section. You are not supposed to do that to anyone, whether he is a theist or an atheist, if you consider yourself an educated and civilised person.
Have a blessed and peaceful day.

They are though... so well done on the stupid question with the massive false premise.
*Pointless question either way isn't it. Say what you mean next time and it might be an interesting question.*
