i was always hear people talking about women can't drive in Saudi and all.but don't you think Saudi women have more important issues to worry about than drving.like how about domestic abuse? or forced marriages?(which are not premitted in islam.but in saudi culture(not islam) its quite common)

don't you think driving is the least of their problems?

Yes they do. I use it as an example because it is written in the law and they can't argue that it doesn't happen. Everything you mentioned is clearly a bigger problem, but you will get arguments back that it isn't true.

Here's how it's run. Any Saudi woman that gets beat can get the help that she needs. They do have court systems and or she has her family to fall back on. Lot of those Arab dad's and father-in-laws don't take that crap. You know what I mean?
Now for the driving bit the husband if he can't take her to where she wants to go he has to provide a driver for her. Actually it doesn't happen all the time, but he is supposed to.
More often than not the marriages are not forced but just the girl obeying her father.

Yes ofcourse they do

The posh ones worry about what theyre going to wear to the next party.

The moderatly religious ones worry about what their kids have done in school and if its against their cultural values.

The middle class worries about getting a proper job because foreigners have taken their markets and filled all the necessary job positions and have better experiences than they do.

Trust me Ive lived there for 20 years ! I know.

And to be honest, when you live in a hot climate like Saudi where the tempreture is 50C under the shade most of the year...you really start becoming somewhat sluggish and slow and totally relaxed about things. Which is what I love bout Saudi...its such a peaceful country..you have no idea.

Lol ! you are so narrow minded. What makes you think they are suffering? I know for a fact that Saudi women live a very comfortable life!

1. They have drivers to drive them around.
2. They dont have to work and can sit and watch t.v. all day of they want and go shopping with their friends.
3. They have house maids and cooks and cleaners to do the chores around the house.
4. They have nannies to take care of the kids and to teach them.

Frankly you are the one that has the bad card. I don't want to even go into what American men do to their wives. Its all Money, Money, Money, You Pay no I pay crap. Secondly, its the women in America that have to do everything! wash clothes, take the kids to school, work, teach the kids, cook etc,.... Now lets look at this wisely, are you better off? I forgot about the spousal abuse and incest that goes in the American housholds nowadays " Night daddy' s" seems the American prisons are bursting from their seams hmmmmmmm... I wonder why? I forgot, did you get the child support check in the mail today?

Have you ever met a Saudi in your life? ...did't think so.

I believe women in Saudi should do driving as first priority it gives them freedom to do what's best. Forced marriages is a cultural thing so I think it doesn't worry to some.

Of course you are right, in terms of priorities. Driving is convenient symbol for discussion. Any freedom denied would serve.
The important message to get out is that women do not have equal rights under Islam.

I think not driving is not the least of their problems.

They have to worry about, for example, their husbands marrying other women. (Which is permitted in Islam)
