they actually serve the same purpose, which is to leave her tangle free and make it soft and easier to manage. however, a regular conditioner is something you wash-off and is intended to use in the shower, especially if your hair is very dry this is a better option touse. a leave-in conditioner on the other hand is not something you can wash-off and is usually used on damp or dry hair after you have showered (thus the name "leave-in") and can be used anytime within the day if you feel that it's drying out it works as a "refresher".
additionally, it's better to use the regular conditioner for if you have very thick, dry hair (as the oil or conditioning elements wil help moisturize the hair) for thinner her the leave-in conditioner is better as the texture is lighter and won't make hair look heavy or greasy.
hope that i have helped.

Regular needs to be rinsed off while leave in conditioner is applied to hair after wash and be left as it is. The thing is leave in conditioner can also be used anytime during day, when you feel your hair is too dry.

The difference is the regular conditioner is one you have to rinse out and the leave in is just as it says. You leave it in. There's is not that much difference in either one.

Hi, regular conditioner must be rinsed out as it could cause build up and danderuff on the scalp. Whereas, leave in conditioner is specifically designed to be ablee to leave in the hair. It is gentle on the scalp so it does not cause any build up or dandruff. Also it is very moisturising for the scalp and the hair to prevent it from becoming dry or to treat dry hair.
:)
Enjoy!

A regular conditioner you rinse out of your hair. And a leave in conditioner you leave in your hair and don't rinse out.
A leave in conditioner is better. The moisture continues to penetrate the hair shaft.

Regular Conditioner: you have to wash it out.
Leave-In Conditioner: you don't have to wash it out of your hair (generally used after you use regular conditioner).
It's good to use Leave-In's, helps the hair stay healthy.
They're both good to use.

You use a leave in conditioner when you're maybe running late or just need to hydrate your hair every so often. Don't use it too excessively, only once a week or so.

Suri.........
The difference is that a regular conditioner is used after shampooing and after you let it sit in your hair awhile (or not) you rinse it completely out.......and a leave in conditioner does just that, you leave it in your hair, you don't rinse it out.
I would venture to say the leave in is better b/c it can penetrate the hair's cuticle and repair damage just as regular conditioner can do...also it barricades hair against heat and toxins...get it?...

conditioners you rinse out leave in you don't. it depends on how dry your hair is and your hair type which is better for you. you may want to ask your stylist which she/he suggests that you use
