Do you remember the 2006 Torino Olympics when the last Chinese pair took the ice for their free skate and attempted a quadruple flip toss and the female Chinese skater landed in the split position on the ice? Isn't it dangerous that some of these female skaters are being thrown at such a great height? Can't the female partner complete the number of revolutions in the air without being thrown at such dangerous heights? I think pairs technical skating is the most dangerous of the 4 divisions, especially for the female skater. They can easily fall due to the fault of the male skater.

It is quite dangerous, but they must take risks, and it hurts a lot. Yes, male skaters are allowed to throw females as high as they can, and that is usually what they doo.

Yeah I totally agree with you. Many people also think so that pair skating is the most dangerous, difficult and highly demanding discipline of figure skating, especially for the female skater. There have been many cases of serious head injuries due to falls such as when male pair skater Marinin lost his balance while attempting a difficult lasso lift and his partnerTatiana slammed to the ice head first. She suffered a severe concussion and had to be admitted into a hospital. There are no guidelines as to how high a male skater can throw his partner but helmets and stuff are encouraged.(Although no one uses them.) Personally, I share the same sentiment as you that the throw jumps are just too dangerous. I have friends who have attempted pair skating but quitted. The female skater have no sense of direction when being thrown in that way and it is very hard to land the jump. Perhaps they should review on the pair skating moves and take these throw jumps out.

Yeah I agree. I think that pairs skaters should only be allowed to do throw doubles, because they could get seriously hurt, and they sometimes do. I used to want to be a pairs skater, but I decided I didn't want too just because of the pairs throw jumps. I think the side by side jumps are much cooler and safer.

The problem lies in how is marked this kind of elements, the CoP marks are high if the throw is high, long and fast. Code of Points have definetly made pairs skating very very dangerous because of the difficulty that they have added to their lifts, twists and throws.
