what are the rules to wife beating in islam. I have recently converted and my wife has been disobedient.

Islam says ONLY if she is RONG.=
you must discuss her fault with her.
You can ignore her by not talk to her.
Leave her in Bed Alone (no love).

Wife beating is not allowed in Islam.

Disciplining a wife who has broken a few rules of the house is necessary tho.

In the event she has disobeyed you and taken strange men into the house while youre not there, and or she has used your money without your consent, you should warn her and in extreme situations seperate your bed. You are physically allowed to resort to discipline that isnt abusive in certain cases where she has been extremely vile.

When the prophet and aysha had a fight, he didnt say anything to her when she was yelling at him. he just sat quietly.

The woman is usually weaker than the man and the average woman probably would not beat her husband up.

But I as a muslim woman have been taught to expect no less from men and I am entitled to use physical force if I see it fit.

Because Gods rules apply for both people.

However, these rules were laid down to perserve marriage, not so people can get back at each other. There are levels of weird behaviour that need to be addressed. A man has a choice...to leave his wife, or to discipline her spoiltness.
A woman has the same choice.
But most men arent spoilt...when theyre negative, theyre crude and harsh. And there is a lot of warning for men against that in Islam. In other words, if the religion had ordered men to discipline their wives but had nothing to say about the way they should treat their wives in the first place....you should seriously question this religion. But islam makes sure both sides know their limits.

Edit: Ayshas age is unknown, it can be anything from 6-13 And yes he did marry her, but he didnt ask for her hand, her own father Abu Bakr offered to marry her to him and she stayed in his household until she came of age to be wed. Why she was yelling? I have no idea...but I know I can yell pretty hard every month or so...PMS? definitely a factor

Congrats but please this is not what Islam is about. If she is disobedient and provided you are correct in analysis of the problem these are the steps you have to take :
1. Talk to her softly and sensibly
2. Don't sleep with her i.e stay in the same bed but ignore her as a means of showing how much upset you are
3. By beating which the prophet never did, it is similar to what you do to discipline a baby not harder maybe a strong pat on the shoulder or on the palms never acceptable on the face.
4. If she still insists on disobeying you then you should find a judge maybe a close reliable friend or family member to whom you should address the problem and let them decide whose fault it is.

edit: Lost and Found, didn't your prophet marry Aisha when she was 6 years old? At what age did she begin to yell at him and what did he do to her that she would feel the need to yell at him?

If those documents can be in dispute then all hadiths should be considered null and void!

The most convenient way is to treat her with love.Islamic teachings are to teach with love and patient not forcefully.
Keep teaching her even she abuse you. and try to convince her at your level best because being muslim you also have a duty to preach Islam because now on No prophet will come and its now our duty to keep this world in peace as long as we want to survive in this world.

Now secondlly if she doesnt obey you and also considereing that you dont have second option then you can give divorce her.
but keep in mind that Giving a divorce is most unwanted action that is legal.

Allah said in Quran that Satan sends his obediants to world and by the end of day when they came back satan asks them for their work. some say we have done this and bla bla but satan doesnot impress then one of his obediant says i put a divorce between man and woman and then satan hug him..

So keep remember that Divorse is least least least option. you cant go for it until or unless uthink that there is a way.

Now people will say that giving is divorce .... ahhh what kind of this religion. but think alots of people give divorce due to some unwanted think i mean some time there is problem of sex satisfaction and one's wife does love to other man. some time man wants another woman but having narrow clause of marriage in their religion they cant marry other woman but keep her engage in the relation which has the name of illegal relation. that has no name .
So you are doing it for some valid reason that is religion.

There are also some very very respectfull clauses in islam that how must u treat your wife while giving divorse even islam says that if your x wife having pragnancy then u must afford her and his child untill or unless baby doesnt born and leave her Breat feeding.

So any thing that is coming inbetween u and islam try to remove that even they are parents or wife. but that doesnt mean that you will boycot the socially.No if they are parents they you services should be there for them until they died even they abuse you.

because keep faith on Allah while bearing the hardship have very great great rewards in next world. after all many Prophets have done this all.

And as for the 4 wives? I've recently accepted Muhammed as God's prophet, and I've read where it says that... personally to me it sounds like when Muhammed said it is contigent upon justice, he was making a point that it CANNOT be justified, and therefore you really should have one.
But even religion is in the eye of the beholder.

I feel sorry for your wife. You're now the supreme leader of the pack you can pick wives as long as you are capable of feeding them. So it won't worry you if your wife disobey you, she cannot marry again so you are in control.
