why should you get govt. support? why should you not have to support your own child? you made the decision to have sex with out protection. face the consequences. if you keep it go get a good job so you can pay for it. best bet since you can't support it would be to find some adoptive parents that can afford it.
the truth is harsh, but its reality. diapers, formula(if not breastfeeding which is free) furniture, housing, medical insurance, medications. not cheap. thats just the financial. not to mention the mental/emotional and physical. up for hours on end during the night, feeding every 2-4 hrs things like that. need to think seriously about it.
also think about other ramifications of unprotected sex, like STD's, have you been tested for AIDS?

Hi there, first of all I am sorry that some of the responses you have been getting have been a bit rude. You dont deserve to be treated like that!
You need to take a pregnancy test a few days after your period is late and go see a doctor to confirm the result. If you are pregnant please tell you parents. There are government programs that can help you, there is the teen and young parent program. You are too young to apply for social assistance but when you are 18 you can apply for that. Most communities also have different parenting programs such as planned parenthood. You should get involved with these programs. These programs are put in place for a reason, please do not feel guilty about accessing them and ignore some of the rude comments you have been recieving. I work for the goverment and have seen this situation many times, you are not alone. If you are considering adoption please go see an adotion worker at social services as soon as possible to plan for it, the sooner you start planning for adoption the better it is, you can help in choosing a family for your baby and meet the new parents. Many families are on the wait list for babies, if you can not support a child, please give some loving family the opportunity too.

I'm married and now have 2 kids. It's not easy at all. If you are pregnant and you decided to keep your baby it isn't going to be an easy road. It is possible though. There are schools out there for pregnant teens and some high schools will let you stay and some even have childcare too. But doing this without the help of your parents will make life very hard. Whatever you do finish school. Don't rely on your boyfriend either.
I can't say what I would do if I were you. But, think about adoption. There are lots of good people out there who can't have kids and pray everyday for a child of their own. I really wish you good luck. Don't listen to those who talk bad about you. Most teens nowadays are having sex even if they should wait. It could happen to anyone.

First of all at 15 he shouldnt be having sex your too young. But Its clear you are so................ If your not pregnant !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Get the birth control shot. It lasts nearly 3 months and you dont have to take it daily, which most young girls wouldnt remember.
If you are here are the facts......... #1) You will be alone. He will not stick around. He will not wanna work and all his money go for the baby. He will run and will not pay support You will have to try to fight him in court which will take years if you ever get it.
#2) I personally think your too young to raise a baby. Its not a doll that you can put away when your tired of it. Its a screaming kid that needs you 24/7. No ball games, no dances, no prom, dates... just laundry, diapers, dishes and BILLS.
#3) Yeah you could get welfare, But you will not beable to do anything you will be POOR. Yeah they will feed you and get your medical bills paid , but what about clothes, a car, gas money, toliet paper, laundry soap, that sort of thing. Welfare is not a way of life, Or shouldnt be. It would go off your parents income so I doubt you would get very much.
#4) Atleat if you give the baby up it can go to a family that can afford it and give it a good life.
#5) You arent old enough to drive how will you get it to the dr. How will you get groceries. You will be too poor to pay for a car, for insurance, and for gas and its upkeep.
#6) You dont finish high school, but if you do, I dont see you going to college, You will be stuck working min. wage forever, Meaning living on welfare forever.
#7) How will you work and pay daycare? I know for an infant they will want $115.00 , $120.00 or higher a week.
Ok i wont go on............ But there are so many more...... I really hope your not pregnant. But if you are I would suggest you let someone eles have the baby it will save you from having your baby taken away for being an unfit mother if you dont get whats most important in line.

Hi. I have two children. Two year old and four month old. It is very HARD work. You should definatly tell your parents. Go to the doctor because there are supplements you need to take while pregnant for the correct development of the baby. You will get payments from centrelink but thats not the main issue. You should try and finnish school. Its important. Plenty of people who cant have children want to adopt if thats what you want to do. it would give your child a stable environment. How late is your period? Just go to the doctor and talk to her about what to do.You are only a child yourself and it is a huge responsibility to have children.

(((HUGS))) You must be scared to death. Hopefully you are not pregnant so you can make a lifestyle change before you do end up pregnant or with a STD. I have to agree with others, you are too young to have sex. If you're not financially & emotionally ready to care for a baby and yourself... then you're not ready for the responsibility that having sex brings. No birth control method is 100% effective unless you are talking abstinence. So leave sex alone untill you are in a good marriage. Now, if you are pregnant, you need to talk to your parents. Give them a chance to help you. Of course they'll be upset, you are their baby! (Most likely they'll blame themselves and wonder where they went wrong....) I'm so happy to hear abortion is not an option! Good for you! I think the others make good points about how difficult life would be with a baby.... so I'm going to chime in and say go for adoption. I wish you the best of luck.

i am adopted and i also had a baby at 18. you are young and you will be missing out on soooo much in life by having a baby. r u sure u r ready? u r asking about welfare already! that should be a sign. there are open adoptions now that still let you get pics of the baby and even choose the parents. if i ever meet my biological mother i would say thank you to her for wanting the best for me and knowing she could not provide it. go to college, travel the world, fall in love, then if you still want a baby-go for it. just make sure u live your young life first. as for your boyfriend. if you have a baby with him you will have to deal with him and his family the rest of your life. is he someone you are willing to do that with? if you have any problems with him now-he probably is not gonna change.

Well, if I were only 15 and couldn't afford to raise a child by myself without quitting school and my parents wouldn't support you, I'd definitely put him/her up for adoption. My parents adopted me from newborn and are wanting and waiting to adopt again we have had homestudy and everything done for over a year and still n children have came up. so I know how blessed someone who really is trying to adopt would feel to get the chance to raise a child. Just make sure you tell your parents.

well once you find out if your pregnant or not. then from there i know some states have a school that you can attend that also have day care for you child. there are also some schools that concentrate on teaching you how to care for you child ( you take your child to school with you.
you will also be able to get some kind of government support, but dont count on that for the rest of your life.
now when it comes to your boyfriend most guys dont stick around, but if he does your very luck to have the extra help, and you never know about your parents they might be there for you every step of the way.
good luck.

First of all, God bless you for keeping your baby and also, for possibly considering adoption. I am a Waiting Parent. My husband and I have an approved Homestudy through an adoption agency in Bethesda Maryland and are anxiously waiting for a placement.
With our agency (many are similar), they do offer you counseling, and medical.. If, you do not have insurance, they then ask the "potential adoptive parents" to pay for your medical expenses. I am not sure of any schools for pregnant young women, but I have heard of programs before, and It probably just requires a little research.
My suggestion to you is to take care of yourself first. if you are pregnant, you will need to take prenatal vitamins, and go to an obgyn to make sure you and the baby are doing ok.
You are very young, but are making an adult decision with your life and your baby's life. You have a lot of growing up to do and your entire life ahead of you. Your education is very important to make sure that you grow up to be a responsible adult, and can take care of yourself financially, as well as your children.
I would never advise you to keep your baby or to choose the adoption/option, that is YOUR choice, however, DO NOT feel guilty, do not feel bad about yourself. Take this as a Life Lesson and grow from it.
If you would like further information about my adoption agency, visit the barkerfoundation.org
I wish you well, and I wish you peace with your decision. Good Luck, and I hope your family proves to be a good support system for you, as you will need family and friends around you, to keep things in perspective, and hopefully positive!
