THE PRIME PURPOSE OF HINDUISM IS TO WAKE UP PEOPLE
Hindus believe in an uncreated, eternal, infinite, transcendent and all embracing principal, which is the sole reality. It is the ultimate cause and foundation; the source and goal of all existence. This is 'Par Brahman.' This causes the Universe and all beings to emanate from it, transform into the Universe or assume its appearance. ' Brahman ' is the self or 'Atman' of all living beings. The Atman seeks to unite with the Par Brahman in a desire for salvation. This religious search for the ultimate truth has been the focus of India's spiritual life.
Another characteristic of the religion is the principle of 'Ahimsa' or non-violence and is regarded as the keystone of a Hindu's ethics. Hindus believe in rebirth and transmigration of the soul or 'Atman' and that the soul never dies, it merely takes on a new body.
It is an individual's deeds or ' karma ' that decide his fate in this as well as the next life. Karma or previous actions of a being are the factors that determine the condition into which a person, after his death and subsequent stay in heaven or hell, is reborn in one form or another. This cycle of birth-death-birth is the 'Samsara.' For a Hindu, mundane day-to-day life is not true existence.
All human endeavors should be directed towards liberation or 'Moksha' from this endless cycle of birth and rebirth. Final salvation or emancipation is the one permanent and eternal truth. It is with the attainment of Moksha that the Atman meets and joins the Brahman who symbolizes the One Truth that is the Whole Truth.
In principle, Hinduism incorporates all forms of belief and worship without necessitating the selection or elimination of any. No religious idea in India ever dies or is superseded. It is merely combined with the new ideas that arise in response to it. Hindus revere the Divine in every manifestation, are doctrinally tolerant, allowing others to practice their beliefs - whether Hindu or non-Hindu. They regard other forms of worship, strange gods and divergent doctrines as inadequate rather than wrong or objectionable.
They believe that Divine powers complement one another and that all religions are merely different paths of reaching the same goal - the 'Par Brahman'.
The sacred scriptures of the Hindus are called Vedas (Knowledge). These scriptures are not the creations of Gods or of human beings. The pure sounds were directly revealed to and heard by seers ( rishi and muni ) and written down in Sanskrit. Vedas are considered to be the eternal truth, the absolute religious authority for almost all sects of Hinduism. The rituals mentioned in the Vedas revolve round fire sacrifices. Parts of the Veda are memorized and recited as a religious act of great significance. They are the literary records of the social, spiritual and cultural life of the Aryans in the Vedic period (2nd millennium to 7th century BC.
The religious books of the Hindus are the Vedas - Rigveda (wisdom of verses), Yajurveda (wisdom of sacrificial formulas), Samaveda (wisdom of chants) and Atharvaveda (wisdom of Atharvan priests). Other books are Aranyakas or books studied in the forests, Dharma Sutras, Puranas, the Bhagavad-Gita and the epics, Ramayana and Mahabharata.

may be, to respect and worship all that necessities which helps us to live in this world.
Hinduism is not newly formed religion. It's quite old, much older than islam, christianity and other major religions. Being inspired my this religion has all these religions formed (obviously). So whatever purpose your religion will have the same hinduism will have. In fact this vast religion has lot more to say and to offer. Although the bad points cannot be neglected, if we go to see all religions they too have bad points.

Hinduism is the ultimate spirituality. It has nothing to do with the Hindus today.
I am a Christian. I learnt the basics of spirituality from Christianity, but now I find its continuation in Bhagawad Geetha. If Christ teaches the birth of a spritual personality, Lord Krishna teaches the perfection of that personality.
If there is one Hindu in India, the whole of India will glitter.
