I would rather be hot. I think the people who will say they prefer to be cold haven't been cold; they've been warm in a cold environment. When people who say they prefer to be cold than hot, they're saying they'd rather be naked in the snow, than than be hot; not in the snow wearing many layers of clothes. They always argue "You can always put more clothes on", but if your doing this arent you seeking heat? Wearing what you're wearing now, would you rather be in Antartica or at the beach?

Cold.
When your cold you can put more clothing on, turn up the heating, and exercise. BUT when your hot there's a limit to the amount you can take off (without getting arrested), the heating is more than likely off already, and even if you sit still, your still too hot. PLUS! Easier to save a life from the cold (not easy, I said 'easier') than it is from too much heat.

Hey Roy... speaking of retarded answers: (no one meant it in the way you state it, but here ya go)
Heat-related illnesses include:
A high body temperature (hyperthermia) can develop rapidly in extremely hot environments, such as when a child is left in a car in the summer heat
Heat rash (prickly heat), which occurs when the sweat ducts to the skin become blocked, swell, and cause discomfort and itching.
Heat cramps, which occur in muscles after exercise because sweating causes the body to lose water and salt and minerals (electrolytes).
Heat edema (swelling) in the legs and hands, which can occur when you sit or stand for a long time in a hot environment.
Heat tetany (hyperventilation and heat stress), which is usually caused by short periods of stress in a hot environment.
Heat syncope (fainting), which occurs from low blood pressure when heat causes the blood vessels to expand (dilate) and body fluids move into the legs because of gravity.
Heat exhaustion (heat prostration), which generally develops when a person is working or exercising in hot weather and does not drink enough liquids to replace those lost fluids.
Heatstroke (sunstroke), which occurs when the body fails to regulate its own temperature and body temperature continues to rise, often to 105° (40.6°) or higher. Heatstroke is a medical emergency. Even with immediate treatment, it can be life-threatening or result in serious long-term complications.

Cold. You can always add extra layers to keep you warm. I was in Turkey one year when the temprature was 45C and the hostel I was in just had a fan in the bedroom. It was so horrible. Even the cold water coming out the shower was warm.
