http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barnabas

and find out what the Catholic Encyclopedia says about it at this web site

http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/02299a.htm

the first web site is probably run by Muslims but the other two are for sure not

The truth. here is some info about it...

The Gospel of Barnabas was accepted as a Canonical Gospel in the Churches of Alexandria till 325 C.E. In 325 C.E., the Nicene Council was held, where it was ordered that all original Gospels in Hebrew script should be destroyed. An Edict was issued that any one in possession of these Gospels will be put to death. The article, How the Gospel Survived, gives a brief narrative on the text's survival.

It is a true, uncorrupted gospel that includes the true teachings of Jesus Christ (PBUH). Among the teachings mentioned in this gospel is to believe in Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and follow his teachings; that is: become an ardent Muslim.

Barnabas was Mark's uncle. He was one of the very close followers of Jesus (PBUH). His Bible was supposed to be burned by the polytheist trinitarians after the infidel Nicene synod ordered the burning of hundreds of gospels; except the four gospels that are famous (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John). However, Allah has revealed this Gospel when it was found in Barnabas' grave. Barnabas' body was found intact; though he had died 4 centuries earlier. Anyway, Barnanbas' gospel mentions Muhammad's prophethood many centuries before Muhammad (PBUH) was even born.

Here in Egypt, there are many copies of this gospel. Egyptian christians have tried to convince us that it was wrong; but to no avail. Allah reveals the truth sooner or later.

Jesus proclaims he is unfit to tie Muhammads shoe latches and says Muhammad is the Messiah I too am amazed at teh confidence these Muslims express toward it if it disagrees with the Qu'ran...Maybe they think the Qu'ran is corrupt as both can not be right

Then said the priest: `How shall the Messiah be called, and what sign shall reveal his coming?'

Jesus answered: `The name of the Messiah is admirable, for God himself gave him the name when he had created his soul, and placed it in a celestial splendour. God said: "Wait Mohammed; for thy sake I will to create paradise, the world, and a great multitude of creatures, whereof I make thee a present, insomuch that whoso bless thee shall be blessed, and whoso shall curse thee shall be accursed. When I shall send thee into the world I shall send thee as my messenger of salvation, and thy word shall be true, insomuch that heaven and earth shall fail, but thy faith shall never fail." Mohammed is his blessed name.'

Does this fit in with the teachings of the Qu'ran?

an obvious counterfeit Gospel written by a Muslim 15th century or so where Jesus all but slobbers over Muhammad it's a bad joke heres the web pages http://answering-islam.org/Green/barnabas.htm why the Muslims her are in favor of it is beyond me as it teaches contrary to the Qu'ran..I guess anything that insults Jesus is holy to them somehow...according to this book Muhammad is the Messiah...even the
Qu'ran would not teach this bogus crap...or maybe it would but it wasn't around then for Muhammad to plagiarize. How could it have been it mentions Muhammad....Give me a break even Jesus wasn't anounced by his given name...oh I forgot Muhammad was more special he was the Messiah...ahhhhhhh!!!! EDIT to shirk....It is uncorrupted Gospel that calls Muhammad the Messiah????? So you believe Muhammad ot be the Messiah the holy one of Israel who was born of a virgin and atoned for sin?

It is forbidden by the pope for Christians to read.
Barnabas was a disciple of Jesus (pbuh) and he wrote the truth about Jesus (pbuh) during his lifetime.
He was alive at the same time as Jesus (pbuh) and did not fabricate things about Jesus (pbuh) after his death.
"Dearly beloved the great and wonderful God hath during these past days visited us by his prophet Jesus Christ in great mercy of teaching and miracles, by reason whereof many, being deceived of Satan, under presence of piety, are preaching most impious doctrine, calling Jesus son of God, repudiating the circumcision ordained of God for ever, and permitting every unclean meat: among whom also Paul hath been deceived, whereof I speak not without grief; for which cause I am writing that truth which I have seen and heard, in the intercourse that I have had with Jesus, in order that ye may be saved, and not be deceived of Satan and perish in the judgment of God. Therefore beware of every one that preacheth unto you new doctrine contrary to that which I write, that ye may be saved eternally. The great God be with you and guard you from Satan and from every evil. Amen."
I do agree with Barnabas.
Jesus (pbuh) is a man not son of God.
