Hello,
How do I file taxes if I dont have a 1099 or w2? I am sure I would qualify for EIC as single mother of 2 making only about 7200 per year? In prelimiary paperwork through HR Block it was determined I would receive a refund?! This doesnt sound right since I havent actually paid taxes. Also, How do I prove my income? Help! Thanks

Unfortunately EIC is only paid out to the people who pay into it -if you don't pay off every cheque or pay period you are not eligible. The refund could be a GST rebate since your income is below the point where you would pay taxes. As for proving your income - you will need to use whatever records like deposit slips etc to show how much you made.

You prove your income through your own records. You can file a return without a 1099. At an income of $7,200 with qualifying children, you will receive a refund.

Although you will pay Social Security and Medicare on your net profits from your self-employment, these taxes are less than the Earned Income Credit.
